(SIOUX LOOKOUT, ON) On December 8th, 2018 the Lac Seul Police service was conducting a RIDE check in the community of Frenchman’s Head.
A female motorist approached check point. Officers observed signs of impairment by a drug.
A standard Field sobriety test was administered and the driver performed poorly. An Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Drug Recognition Officers was requested by the Lac Seul Police.
A Drug Recognition Evaluator completed their tests with the driver and as a result, 32 year old Melissa Southwind of Frenchman’s Head has been charged with:
- Impaired operation of a motor vehicle by drug contrary to section 253(1)(a).
The driver was release on a Promise to Appear. She will appear in Lac Seul Court on Jan 10, 2018.
