Officers were dispatched to the southern portion of Chapples Park shortly after 11:30 am on Sunday, December 9th, 2018 after a passerby saw what they believed might be a body.

A post-mortem examination took place in Toronto on Thursday, December 13th, 2018. The results of the examination confirmed the body discovered was that of Braiden, who had been reported missing earlier.

Sources have indicated that this may have been a violent group assault, where a number of people had attacked Jacob. Earlier this year Bear Clan was on patrol in the Chapples Park area, when they were confronted by a group of people who were violent and yelling racial slurs.

Police confirmed the body of Braiden Jacob was found with signs of trauma.

According to the Bear Clan, a journalist was with them, and captured the incident on video. There has not been any video or images released by the Bear Clan or the journalist that we know of, but it is believed that those aggressors are likely suspects. If those images and/or video were to be released, it would likely give police a strong lead to continue this homicide investigation further.
