Death Investigation Lands Two People Behind Bars

(DRYDEN, ON) โ€“ On February 16, 2017, members of the Dryden Police Service attended a residence in response to a child in medical distress.ย A three year old boy was transported to the hospital and pronounced dead.

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) North West Region Crime Unit commenced an investigation following a request for assistance from Dryden Police Service.ย A post mortem was conducted on February 20, 2017 at the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service.

As a result of the investigation, William WALMSLEY, 40-years-old and Rae Dawn KUSHNER, 31-years-old, both of Dryden were arrested and charged on December 17, 2018 with:

  • Criminal Negligence Causing Death
  • Failing to Provide the Necessaries of Life.

The Dryden Police Service Crime Unit and OPP North West Region Crime Unit are continuing their investigation under the direction of Detective Inspector Randy Heida of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch.

Both accused are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Dryden on January 28, 2019.

On March 10, 2018 Dryden Police were conducting a RIDE Program on Earl Ave when police encountered a car with open liquor. During the investigation, police also found a quantity of marihuana, cocaine and a set of Brass Knuckles inside the car that are identified as a Prohibit Weapon under the Criminal Code.

RIDE Programs leads to an Impaired Charge

On March 10, 2018 Dryden Police charged a 36 year old male of Impaired Driving after being checked during a Ride Program. Christopher Rollins of Dryden will appear in Dryden court on April 9, 2018 to the charge.

(DRYDEN, ON) โ€“ On November 07, 2018 at approximately 8:30 p.m. officers from the Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau, Community Street Crime Unit and the Dryden Police Service executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant on a Dryden residence.

Police seized 31 grams of Methamphetamine, drug trafficking materials, Canadian currency and a prohibited weapon.

39-year-old William WALMSLEY (pictured above), of Dryden, ON was arrested and charged with:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking โ€“ Methamphetamine
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance โ€“ Cocaine
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Weapon
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000
  • Fail to Comply with a Recognizance.

29-year-old Katlynd CRONLEY-POLKINGHORNE (pictured above), of Wabigoon, ON was arrested and charged with:

  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance โ€“ Cocaine
  • Fail to comply with a Recognizance.

Both accused are being held in custody and will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on the 14 November 2018.

On August 20, 2018, just after midnight the Dryden Police Service stopped a vehicle outside a residence on Colonization Ave for a Highway Traffic Act violation.

During the traffic stop police detained the male passenger who was immediately arrested for having in his possession a can of pepper spray, which is a prohibited device under the Criminal Code.

At the time the male passenger was arrested the female driver began to interfere and obstruct police in their duties.

The female was also arrested for Obstruct Police and Assaulting a Police Officer.

A subsequent search of the vehicle lead to the seizure of a quantity of Cocaine, Crystal Meth, Ritalin, knives, and Canadian currency.

Katlynd Dawn CRONLEY-POLKINGHORNE, 29 years old of Wabigoon, Ontario is facing the following charges:

  • Three counts of Trafficking
  • Three counts of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking in Cocaine, Methamphetamines and Ritalin,
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
  • 2 counts of Fail to Comply with Court Orders, Obstruct Police, Assault Police
  • Numerous offences under the Highway Traffic Act.

Charles Keirron Blake CHIEF โ€“ 32 years old of Dryden is charged with:

  • Three counts of Trafficking
  • Three counts of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking in Cocaine, Methamphetamines and Ritalin
  • Possession of Property Obtain by Crime
  • Possession of a Prohibited device for having the pepper spray.
