(THUNDER BAY, ON) – A neighbourhood in the north side of the city has been rattled by a fierce power outage that is leaving people feeling drained.
A resident in the area of Algoma and River says he was just cleaning the snow when the power went out around 8:00 pm. The power flickered back on but then shut down and didn’t come back on.
A source close to hydro tells us that it appears like a 260,000 volt line may have went down in the area.
Hydro crews are being dispatched and at this point in time there is no estimated time for the return of service.
The Port Arthur Health Centre has closed down for the night due to the outage.
About 3000 Hydro customers are without power across the city.
