KEE-WAY-WIN SCHOOL TEACHER PLEADS GUILTY TO BEING DRUNK AND VIOLATING BAIL CONDITION IN THUNDER BAY.
Appearing handcuffed in Courtroom 102’s prisoner box before Her Honour Justice Elaine Burton this morning, Thursday December 27, 2018 is 37 year old DARREN FIDDLER.
FIDDLER is average height and slim build. He has goatee style facial hair.
The father of two is pleading guilty to breach of bail. He has outstanding criminal charges on the Kee-Way-Win Indian Reserve.
Admitted facts are that FIDDLER was in Thunder Bay with other family members on December 19, 2018 and had too much alcohol to drink. He hurt his arm while drinking, got seperated from family and somehow wound up banging on a homeowner’s door on Newberry Crescent creating a nuisance of himself.
The Thunder Bay Police arrived at 3:30 pm to find a highly intoxicated FIDDLER and after learning he was on bail for outstanding criminal charges, FIDDLER was arrested. His bail conditions are to reside in Kee-Way-Win and not consume alcohol. He’s been in custody since December 19, 2018.
His attorney Michael Hargadon tells the court his client has a Bachelor degree in Education and teaches the 8th grade back on the reserve. A joint submission for an Absolute Discharge is presented to Her Honour Justice Burton.
The Judge accepts the joint submission considering that FIDDLER has spent 9 days in custody at the Thunder Bay Jail.
The handcuffs are removed from Fiddler and he is free to leave. He’ll have an interesting story to tell the students aout his trip to Thunder Bay.
