(NORTHERN ONTARIO) – Environment Canada has issued a Freezing Rain Warning for Thunder Bay and areas west of the city this afternoon. Freezing rain is expected to amount in significant amounts.
Freezing rain can cause hazardous driving conditions. Please, stay off the roads unless you absolutely must travel. If you must travel, please exercise caution when doing so.

Freezing rain warning in effect for:
- City of Thunder Bay
- Cloud Bay – Dorion
- Kakabeka Falls – Whitefish Lake – Arrow Lake
- Atikokan – Shebandowan – Quetico Park
- Upsala –
- Seine River Village – Mine Centre
- Ignace – English River
Several hours of freezing rain possible today.
A band of freezing rain mixed with snow and ice pellets is expected to move eastwards ahead of a warm front and just north of the Minnesota state border today.
Take extra care when walking or driving in affected areas. Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions.
Freezing rain warnings are issued when rain falling in sub-zero temperatures creates ice build-up and icy surfaces.
