(THUNDER BAY, ON) – A south side neighbourhood is swarming with fire trucks and emergency personnel after a 911 call was made.
Approximately 6 fire trucks, 2 Superior North EMS ambulances and the Thunder Bay Fire Rescue Command Unit were on seen of a Crawford Avenue residence today. This means that a second alarm was called due to the number of units that responded.
A witness on scene says they overheard a first responder talking about the smoke/fire possibly starting at the furnace. The investigation is still in the preliminary phases, so not much is known right now. It is believed to have been an electrical fire near the furnace, tho.
Nobody is believed to have been seriously injured in the situation, although at least one person was treated for smoke inhalation.
The incident took place on Crawford Ave between Mary and Francis deep in the heart of Westfort.
Please avoid the area for the time being, until first responders have had a chance to clear the area.
