(KENORA, ON) – On January 6th, 2019 at approximately 4:05 pm, members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) in Kenora were advised of an out building on fire at a residence on Highway 596.
The OPP along with the Pellatt Fire Department attended a short time later and were able to extinguish the fire.
As a result of the investigation a 28-year-old male identified as Mitchell Wickman of Kenora was arrested and charged with:
- Arson-Damage to Property, contrary to section 434 of the Criminal Code.
The accused, Wickman, was denied bail and subsequently held in custody to attend a scheduled bail hearing at the Kenora Courthouse January 7, 2019.
Correction: We erroneously reported that it was an “outhouse” on fire, when it was actually an “out building” based on some bad information we obtained.
