This bitterly cold Arctic airmass will remain in place through the weekend.

Risks are greater for young children, older adults, people with chronic illnesses, people working or exercising outdoors, and those without proper shelter.

Dress warmly. Dress in layers that you can remove if you get too warm. The outer layer should be wind resistant.

Cover up. Frostbite can develop within minutes on exposed skin, especially with wind chill.

If itโ€™s too cold for you to stay outside, itโ€™s too cold for your pet to stay outside.

  1. I can just imagine the poor animals left outside. I hope that the city has beds for everyone. Outside Safeway on Court St. today someone asking for money. He looked on the verge of freezing sitting on the cold ground and not dressed very warm. Should these stores not call someone to come and collect them before he turns into a popsicle? It has to be someone’s responsibility.
