(MUSSELWHITE MINE, ON) – SUDDEN DEATH INVESTIGATION AT MUSSELWHITE MINE.

OPP were called yesterday, Saturday February 2, 2019 to the Musselwhite Gold Mine in NorthWestern Ontario.

Sources indicate a 23 year old woman died in her camp room.

The woman is from the remote nearby Weagamow Lake 87 Indian Reserve. It’s also referred to as North Caribou Lake First Nation or Round Lake First Nation.

Undetermined cause of death at this point.

Most likely cardiac arrest in her sleep. OPP have concluded their investigation. The coroner removed the body and the room remains sealed awaiting the arrival of Ministry of Labour.

No foul play suspected at this point.

  1. I heard from a friend that there was also a death at the local mine.
    Someone had a heart attack in a truck and crashed into the ditch.
    Unfortunately they were deceased before the medical team got there.
    It’s sad hearing about people dying in the work place.
    Live to work, only to die on the same place.
