(KENORA, ON) – MAN WHO ONCE SET FIRE TO KENORA CITY HALL ARRESTED AGAIN BY KENORA OPP
Appearing by telephone this morning, Saturday February 16,2019 from the Kenora OPP Station is 47 year old CLIFFORD DOGGER.
It’s W.A.S.H. (Weekend And Statutory Holiday) Court today. Her Worship, Zelda Kitchekeesic is presiding. Provincial Crown Derrick Silvestro is here along with Duty Counsel Aranka Golphy.
DOGGER was arrested by Kenora OPP yesterday intoxicated. Court hears he allegedly tried to kick out the window of a police cruiser. He allegedly missed his court date on Thursday February 14,2019. DOGGER is trying to argue that he did attend court and has witnesses.
Duty Counsel Golphy also states he was there. Crown Attorney Derrick Silvestro counters that “clearly, a judicial officer found he did not attend”. Bench warrant was issued.
DOGGER has outstanding criminal charges of assault and failure to comply.
Crown Attorney Silvestro is not consenting to the release of DOGGER. The accused is very upset and starts yelling expletives stating that he’s trying to be a better person but if he’s released he won’t show up in court.
Duty Counsel Aranka Golphy tells the court that DOGGER has requested a Section 517 publication ban.
DOGGER tells the court “ I DON’T EVEN KNOW WHAT THAT IS”.
It seems to this writer that DOGGER did not actually request this. It appears that Golphy and Legal Aid have their own agenda. It seems that Golphy does not understand how a Section 517 publication ban works.
DOGGER will spend the weekend in Kenora Jail. He’ll make an appearance in Kenora Bail Court on Tuesday February 19,2019
DOGGER was convicted in 2016 of a 2006 arson at Kenora City Hall and sentenced to 8 months jail plus restitution. He has very lengthy criminal record.
