A male and female were out snowmobiling when their motorized snow vehicle (MSV) became stuck in slushy ice conditions on Moose Lake, causing them to be stranded on the lake and unable to return to their camp.

Due to the deteriorating ice conditions, a rescue by MSV was not possible.

Officers from the North West Region Emergency Response Team (ERT) attended the location with assistance from Wisk Air Helicopter and rescued the male and female.

Both were located in good condition, and no injuries were reported.

  1. Any fisherman will tell you all inland lakes are a mess this year. Too much snow too quick. Stick to the trails
