Massive Simpson Street Crack Coccaine Bust

(THUNDER BAY, ON) – Police officers executed two search warrants in the city’s south side early Friday morning as a result of an ongoing drug investigation by the Thunder Bay Police Service, OPP, Nishnawbe-Aski Police Service and Anishinabek Police Service.

Warrants focused on residential locations in the 200 block of Simpson Street and 100 block of Bethune Street.

As a result of those searches police located a significant quantity of crack and cocaine with an estimated potential street value of $75,000CAD.

Police also seized a large quantity of Canadian currency believed to be upwards of $50,000.

Michael Anthony “Swish” PRAHAY, 28, of Toronto, is charged with Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of trafficking, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, and Trafficking Cocaine.

Tracey Lee-Ann DERUITER, 47, of Thunder Bay, is charged with Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance of the Purpose of Trafficking and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000.

Shawn Allan Thomas MAYBEE, 37, of Thunder Bay, is charged with Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking. Obstruct Peace Officer, and Probation Order Non-Compliance.

Courtney Earl ADAMS, 30, of Toronto, is charged with Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking, and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime.

All appeared in court Friday and were remanded into custody with a future appearance date.

Thunder Bay Police Service officers responded to a call for service at a residence in the 200 block of Finlayson Street just before 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2019.

Responding officers were allowed into the residence to check on the welfare of people inside. As a result a male at the residence was arrested for possession for the purpose of trafficking. Officers found the male was in possession of a quantity of suspected crack cocaine and a quantity of money.

The Thunder Bay Police Service’s drug unit, with assistance from the OPP, NAPS and APS, later executed a search warrant at the home. As a result of that search officers located about $70,000 in Canadian currency.

Police also seized a quantity of suspected crack cocaine believed to have an estimated street value of about $53,000, and a quantity of suspected cocaine with an estimated street value of about $26,000.

Police continue to investigate the suspect’s possible affiliation with Toronto-area gangs.

Michael “Swish” PRAHAY, 28, of Toronto, is charged with Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking x 2, and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000.

He appeared in court Wednesday and was remanded into custody with a future court date.

  3. I would like to know his next court date as well. same as bob. had to move because of this guy’s drug dealing. please keep up notified as to what happens with this scumbag . Funny how this guy gets busted. Apparently leaves thunder Bay and in less than a month. Busted again! Great work TBPS! This guy needs to be removed from our city permanently. I think we need to lock him up and throw away the key.

  4. Great job TBPS…if you see an officer out and about says thank you!. These fine dedicated police officers have to deal with so much shit and low life’s daily to try to protect everyone in TBay.

    And if your out and about and see Alvin Fiddler and his nothing but negative comments and blame gang ….tell them to get off their arses and go help the citizens rather than taking cheap uneducated shots at those who are!

  5. 2nd time in just over a month…… Keep him in until sentacing….. And with that kind of cash he must be moving a shitload of dope…… But the fuckin courts will probably let him out…. Selling above Grace place which is an outreach/church for less fortunate people…. Real classy

  6. Wow they bust 2 places and 2 more will spring up before these guys hit the court rooms. A never ending process here in our city The police just cannot seem to keep up with it and it is not their fault they are doing the best they can. It was bad enough before now all the gang related ones are hitting the city hard to keep up with it all.
