MATTHEW MACRAE RELEASED ON SURETY RECOGNIZANCE.

Thunder Bay Police arrested 34 MATTHEW MACRAE yesterday, Sunday March 17,2019 around 11:30 pm for allegedly uttering threats to cause bodily harm to a man. It’s alleged that around March 10 and 11, 2019 that MACRAE sent out several message to the complainant about causing him harm. Some messages allegedly stated he would plant a half ounce of heroin and a gun in his car to get him arrested. It’s alleged he sent pictures of a handgun and shotgun to the complainant with the implication of harm.
MACRAE’s hand can allegedly be seen in the pictures and he has very distinctive hand tattoos. It’s further alleged that he shared his threats with another person.
His criminal record is continuous starting in 1998 as a youth and going for next 20 years to his last conviction on June 27,2018. Mostly assaults, assaults with weapons and 17 convictions for breaching court orders.
He’s released to go return to his Grenville Avenue home. He is also ordered not to contact the complainant or witnesses.
His next court appearance is April 12,2019.
