(THUNDER BAY, ON) – ALLEGED DRUNK DRIVER ASSAULTS MAN WHILE DRIVING, GETS INTO AN ACCIDENT AND FLEES THE SCENE ON FOOT.
HARDWORKING THUNDER POLICE TRACK DOWN SUSPECT AND MAKE ARREST.
AS PER USUAL PRACTICE, THE DIRECTOR OF COMMUNICATIONS AT TBPS (who is not a police officer) HAS NOT NOTIFIED THE PUBLIC.
IT SEEMS AS IF THE DIRECTOR IS NOT INTERESTED IN HIGHLIGHTING ALL THE GOOD WORK DONE BY OUR FRONT LINE OFFICERS.
Late Saturday night, March 23,2019 a 31 year old LARA LEE WESLEY was allegedly operating a vehicle while heavily intoxicated. She had a male passenger who was concerned with this.
WESLEY allegedly responded to his safety concerns by assaulting him. It’s alleged a single vehicle accident occurred and she fled the scene on foot.
Hardworking Thunder Bay Police Officers tracked WESLEY down to her home on Redwood Avenue and made the arrest. She allegedly had very high blood alcohol readings. WESLEY spent the night in jail at the Police Station on Balmoral Street.
WESLEY was released on a recognizance this morning by a Justice of the Peace with conditions to stay away from the victim she allegedly assaulted.
WESLEY has a future court date.
