All Are Welcome to 24 Hour Sacred Fire on Syndicate

(THUNDER BAY, ON) โ€“ There is nothing quite as displacing as a death of someone close to you and your family. Jenkens Funeral Home know about this all too well and have arranged a ceremony to help people heal.

A 24 hour Indigenous Sacred Fire has been organized at 226 South Syndicate Avenue (Jenkens Funeral Home) in Thunder Bay from July 24th at 6:00 pm until July 25th at 6:00pm. All people and traditions are welcome at this healing event.

Families and individuals are encouraged and welcome to come to the ceremony. Contributing your own traditional offerings into the Sacred Fire is welcome as this will be a community healing event. This Sacred Fire is aiming to bring the community together through healings. If you have a family member that is suffering, in hospital, or otherwise needs a boost, come make an offering into the Sacred Fire for them and join the love and healing that is set to take place. All you need to bring is an open mind and heart.

Tobacco will be supplied for those who want to make the offering into the Sacred Fire and a light snack as well as refreshments will also be on hand. The fire will be accepting offerings for the entire 24 hour period.

Elder Gerry Baxter will be present and is set to light and bless the sacred fire on July 24th. The Sacred Fire and event will help recognize people in need. Fort William First Nationโ€™s Battle Nation Drummers will be present, they perform traditional drumming frequently at the request of families for funerals and other events.

The Thunder Womanโ€™s Hand Drummers will be present for the event to smudge people and traditional ribbon skirts are welcome.

All are welcome to come by for the event. TRCCTB will be there supporting the event and participating.
