(NEWMARKET, ON) – York Regional Police with the assistance of the Toronto Police Service have located a 70-year-old man and his two grandsons aged two and four years old who were last seen in the Town of Newmarket.
On Wednesday, July 10, 2019, shortly after 1:30 p.m., 70-year-old Leo EASTON dropped off his wife at a plaza across the street from Southlake Regional Health Centre, in the area of Davis Drive and Lundy’s Lane. Also in his vehicle were his two grandchildren. He was supposed to park the 2006 Blue Pontiac Montana van that he was driving, however investigators believe that for unknown reasons he drove away from the area.
Investigators did not believe that the children had been taken with malicious intent however they were concerned for the wellbeing of Mr. EASTON and his grandchildren.
Investigators along with York Regional Police frontline officers had been working tirelessly to try and locate Mr. EASTON and his grandchildren. York Regional Police had been in consultation with the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) throughout the course of this investigation and shortly after 3 a.m., a decision was made to issue an Amber Alert.
At approximately 4:30 a.m., the blue Pontiac Montana van that Mr. EASTON was operating was located by the Toronto Police driving on Lakeshore Boulevard. The vehicle was stopped and MR. EASTON, along with his grandchildren were located in good health.
