(LAVALLE TWP, ON) – On July 27, 2019 shortly before 9:00 pm officers from the Rainy River District Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were made aware of a possible impaired driver. The vehicle was observed parking in a local business on Hwy 11 in La Valle Township. An investigation was conducted and a demand for a sample of the driver’s breath was made at the roadside.

The driver registered a “fail” on the roadside device and was transported to the Fort Frances detachment for further testing. Treaty Three Police Service assisted by providing a Qualified Intoxilyzer technician.

As a result of the investigation, Tamika-Jo ANDY (24) of Bemidji was charged criminally with one count of:

  • Operation of a Conveyance while impaired by alcohol.

ANDY is scheduled to appear in Fort Frances Provincial Court on August 12, 2019 at 9:30 am.

The OPP is committed to safety for all who utilize Ontario’s roadways. Members of the public are urged to report Impaired Driving by calling 911 in emergency situations. Complaints of impaired, aggressive or careless driving can also be made by calling      1-888-310-1122.

  1. Being an American, not sure if Gladue will get her off the hook. Natives in the USA didn’t suffer anywhere near as much under their govt as natives did in Canada – NOT.

    In Canada our natives faced the harshness of residential schools. In the USA they suffered death marches and genocide. However, no Gladue in the USA. Do the crime, do the time.
