(KINGFISHER LAKE, ON) – KINGFISHER LAKE WOMAN ARRESTED FOR DRUNKEN LATE NIGHT KNIFE ATTACK RESULTING IN WOUNDED MAN.
SHE IS ALSO ALLEGED TO HAVE ASSAULTED ANOTHER WOMAN
GOOD JOB BY NAPS OFFICERS TO MAKE THIS ARREST
Appearing this morning, Sunday February 10,2019 via telephone from the NAPS Station at Kingfisher Lake Indian Reserve 1 in Bail Courtroom 104 is CANDACE BEARDY.
It’s W.A.S.H. (Weekend And Statutory Holiday) Court today. His Worship, Justice of the Peace Bernard Caron is presiding. Provincial Crown Andrea Mason is here along with Duty Counsel Lianne Roberge and 2 Lakehead Law Students.
The court hears that a man on the reserve was allegedly wounded with a knife early this morning around 2am by CANDACE BEARDY and another woman was assaulted.
Alcohol is alleged to be a factor in this violent assault.
She’s facing charge of aggravated assault and assault.
BEARDY is also alleged to be breaching conditions from previous charges by failing to remain within her home between 10pm-6am.
The Crown is consenting to release BEARDY on a 250$ no deposit bail with conditions not to consume alcohol, a curfew, no weapons and not to contact victims, witnesses or her co-accused JANELLE BEARDY.
BEARDY has her next scheduled court appearance on June 7,2019 in Kingfisher Lake.
