(PICKLE LAKE, ON) – KNIFE ATTACK IN PICKLE LAKE SENDS ONE WOMAN TO THUNDER BAY HOSPITAL AND ANOTHER WOMAN TO JAIL.
A 18 year old IDA FOX appeared by telephone in W.A.S.H. (Weekend And Statutory Holiday) Court today, Monday February 18,2019 from the Pickle Lake OPP Police Station.
Her Worship, Zelda Kitchekeesic is presiding. Provincial Crown Katrina Van Kessel is here along with Duty Counsel Patricia Vo.
FOX was arrested by Pickle Lake OPP last evening and charged with aggravated assault for an alleged knife attack on a woman. The 17-year-old victim was seriously injured requiring a flight to Thunder Bay.
Crown Attorney Van Kessel is not consenting to the release of FOX. It sounds like the accused starts crying and she asks “I’m not being released?”
Her Worship Kitchekeesic tells her that she will remain in custody.
“Can I stay with my Dad?”she asks
Duty Counsel Vo doesn’t know where the accused is going. Crown Van Kessel informs Vo that FOX will be transported to Sioux Lookout for bail Court there tomorrow.
Duty Counsel requests a Section 517 publication ban which means that evidence, testimony and reasons given at a bail hearing cannot be published.
It seems that this Duty Counsel might be expecting a large media turnout in Sioux Lookout tomorrow. Some of these Legal Aid lawyers make me laugh.
FOX is heading to Sioux Lookout Jail.
If anyone has a picture of IDA FOX, please message it to me.
