Appearing in bail court for April Fools Day was 43-year old Troy McRitchie. Justice of the Peace Marcel Donio presiding, with Rob Kozak as Crown Attorney and Aranka Golphy as Duty Counsel.
McRitchie is in court today over an incident where he allegedly assaulted two separate people, one being a woman, and by doing so, also failed to comply with his probation orders condition of “Keep the peace and be of good behaviour”.
McRitchie is facing the following charges:
- Assault x2
- Failure to comply with probation
The crown stresses that he is opposed to McRitchie’s release, citing his related criminal record history, and also requests a no contact/communication order on McRitchie, preventing him from contacting his two complainants.
Duty Counsel recommends a remand until April 3rd, in Fort Frances court so that McRitchie can have time to build a release plan with his legal counsel in hopes of bail. Justice of the Peace Donio remands McRitchie until April 3rd and orders him not to contact the two complainants.
