(KENORA, ON) – Members of the Kenora Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a complaint of an assault on Saturday, August, 11, 2018 at approximately 1230 p.m.
Officers were advised a female was assaulted in a parking lot on Ottawa Street in Keewatin. While investigating the assault, police received a second call of an assault that occurred on the City Transit Bus.
Both victims did not sustain any injuries in the altercations.
The descriptors of the suspect were provided to officers and police arrested the male youth without incident.
The 17-year-old male from Kenora is charged with the following offences under the Youth Criminal Justice Act:
- Fail to Comply with Sentence x 2
- Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
- Attempt – Theft Under $5,000 x 2
- Assault with a Weapon
- Uttering Threats-Cause Bodily Harm
- Resist Arrest Peace Officer
The youth appeared in the Kenora Court of Justice bail court on August 12, 2018.
