WHITEHEAD is originally from Webequie Indian Reserve. She came to city in May 2018 to visit and wound up assaulting a police officer. She had outstanding criminal charges from the Reserve.

Crown Attorney Auclair is not consenting to her release. Duty Counsel Thompson has not prepared a plan for release. She asks for a Section 517 publication ban which means that evidence and testimony given can not be published. Thompson seems to think this is going to a jury trial. She’s been a lawyer almost 30 years and still doing Duty Counsel.

WHITEHEAD IS HEADING TO THE FEMALE CORRECTIONAL CENTRE.
