(THUNDER BAY, ON) – Thefts from vehicles and vehicles being stolen is a common occurence in Thunder Bay and the surrounding region. Officers with the Thunder Bay Police Service have been working hard to return stolen property to their rightful owners.
Police have arrested 31-year-year-old Terry Pelto in regards to a stolen vehicle. He appeared in bail court this morning via video from the TBPS station in front of Her Worship, Justice of the Peace Jennifer Neill. Crown Attorney Pasloski was also present as was a duty counsel lawyer.
Pelto is facing the following criminal charges:
- Possession of a stolen motor vehicle worth over $5000.
- Operate motor vehicle while prohibited.
- Failure to comply with probation – keep the peace and be of good behaviour.
Pelto has a lengthy criminal record and federal charges currently before the courts. He is denied bail today and is ordered to remain in jail until at least his scheduled Thursday appearance in a Thunder Bay courtroom.
He is escorted back to his cell where he will wait for prisoner transport to the Thunder Bay District Jail A.K.A. “The Algoma Bed & Breakfast”.
