Her Honour Justice Bonnie Warkentin is presiding. Crown Attorney is Andrew Sadler and Wabason does not have a lawyer yet.

Shaldon Wabason was sentenced to 10 years in prison for the March 2011 killing of a 54-year-old Robert Topping. Wabason was convicted of manslaughter and break and enter to commit robbery by a jury in October 2015 after being found guilty in the death of Robert Topping.

The Ontario Court of Appeal set aside the convictions earlier this year based on the voluntariness of Wabasonโ€™s confession. The Crown intends to bring Wabason back to trial once more.

Wabason will appear via video on April 23, 2018 in Superior Assignment Court at 1:30 pm. Wabason remains in custody.
