MAN ARRESTED WITH CONCEALED HANDGUN AFTER ALLEGEDLY ASSAULTING WOMAN AND THREATENING HER WITH SWITCHBLADE KNIFE.
THE SMITH & WESSON MP40 TURNED OUT TO BE A REPLICA AIR-SOFT.
An 19 year old DARREN TYANCE appeared by video in W.A.S.H. (Weekend And Statutory Holiday) Court today, Sunday May 13,2018 from the Thunder Bay Police Station on Balmoral.
TYANCE is very slim and his clothing appears to be ripped up a bit. The collar of his shirt looks torn out.
His Worship, Justice of the Peace Bernard Caron is presiding. Provincial Crown Jane Ann McGill is here along with Duty Counsel Arturo Acosta.
The court hears that TYANCE was arrested yesterday after allegedly assaulting a woman and threatening her with a switchblade knife. When Thunder Bay Police arrested him, he’s alleged to have a concealed Smith & Wesson handgun MP40 replica airsoft on his person when he has no licence for a conceal carry.
Crown Attorney Jane Ann McGill is not consenting to the release of TYANCE. Duty Counsel Acosta requests that the matter be put over by video to Bail Court for Monday May 14,2018. TYANCE is being transported to the Thunder Bay Jail.
And as usual, there is no media release from the Director of Communications at Thunder Bay Police Services. It seems as if he either doesn’t want to, or doesn’t know how to do his job. The public is probably interested in the hard work that the rank and file officers do.
The Real Concerned Citizens media is here in the courtroom. Always good to see them reporting the real news.
