Appearing this morning, Saturday, March 31, 2018, via telephone from the SIOUX LOOKOUT OPP Station in Courtroom 104 is 22-year old NEHEMIAH LUKE ACHNEEPINESKUM.
It’s W.A.S.H. (Weekend And Statutory Holiday) Court today. Her Worship, Zelda Kitchekeesik is presiding. Provincial Crown Andrew Sadler is here along with Duty Counsel Lianne Roberge.
ACHNEEPINESKUM was arrested last evening in Sioux Lookout by the OPP. Court hears he was allegedly under the influence of alcohol when arrested. He’s charged by OPP with breach of bail because one of his conditions was not to drink alcohol.
However, the court is told by the Crown Attorney Andrew Sadler that ACHNEEPINESKUM IS WANTED IN THUNDER BAY FOR TWO ROBBERIES AND FAILING TO ATTEND COURT TWICE. The Crown is opposed to the release of ACHNEEPINESKUM on primary and secondary grounds.
ACHNEEPINESKUM will be held in custody at Sioux Lookout and be in Bail Court in Sioux Lookout on Tuesday, April 3, 2018, at 10 am.
Once he’s dealt with all his criminal matters in Sioux Lookout, he’ll be transferred to Thunder Bay to answer to the allegations of robberies he’s alleged to have committed at Thunder Bay convenience stores in 2017.
It will probably take about a week for Thunder Bay Police Communications Director Chris Adams to update his WANTED list.
