(Sault Ste Marie, ON) – On Monday, April 23, 2018, at approximately 3:00 am members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Sault Ste. Marie Detachment had occasion to investigate a male person on foot while conducting R.I.D.E checks on Frontenac Street Batchewana First Nation.
The investigation revealed that the male was in breach of his conditions.
As a result Curtis Matthew DAYNARD of Sault Ste Marie, Ontario was arrested and charged with the following offences:
- Adult Fail to Comply with Recognizance contrary to section 145(3) of the Criminal Code of Canada,
- 2 counts Adult Fail to Comply with Probation Order contrary to section 733.1(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada,
- Adult Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the purpose of Trafficking- Cocaine contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act,
- Adult Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the purpose of Trafficking- Other Drugs contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing in Sault Ste Marie, Ontario.
