(TEMAGAMI, ON) – On April 20, 2018, at approximately 10:42 p.m., members of the Temiskaming Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) attended Highway 11, near Milne Sherman Road, where an intoxicated male was standing in complete darkness, attempting to solicit a ride. The male was arrested and transported to the Temiskaming Detachment.
On April 21, 2018, at approximately 7:18 a.m., members of the (OPP), responded to a call of a bulldozer theft at the Temagami landfill site located on Milne Sherman Road, in Temagami, Ontario.
The bulldozer had been driven down the gravel road, through the dump gate and on the road for over two kilometres. The bulldozer was then driven into the bush and into a snowbank where it remained stuck while running and the tracks still turning.
The 20-year-old male, Madison BOLTON of Temagami, Ontario, was charged for:
- Being intoxicated in public place, contrary to section 31(4) of the Liquor Licence Act (L.L.A.),
- Solicit a ride, contrary to section 177(a) of the Highway Traffic Act (H.T.A.),
- Theft over $5,000 of a motor vehicle, contrary to section 334(a) of the Criminal Code (C.C.), and
- Mischief under $5,000, contrary to section 430(4) of the C.C.
The accused was released by way of Promise to Appear (PTA). He is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on May 29, 2018, in Haileybury, Ontario.
