(NORTH BAY, ON) – On July 12, 2018, North Bay Police Service requested the assistance of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) North Bay Detachment with a death investigation at a residential home in the City of North Bay, Ontario.
On July 9, 2018, a 54-year-old female resident died while being bathed.
The OPP has charged one person as a result of an investigation conducted by members of the North Bay OPP Crime Unit and North East Region Forensic Identification Services (FIS).
Mallorie MAKARA, age 34, of the City of North Bay, Ontario, is charged with:
- Fail to Provide the Necessaries of Life contrary to section 215(2)(b) of the Criminal Code.
The accused was released on a Promise to Appear and Officer In Charge Undertaking with conditions.
She is scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in North Bay, Ontario, on March 5, 2019.
