Alleged Drunk Grocery Shoppers Arrested Driving

(RED LAKE, ON) โ€“ On August 14, 2019 between the hours of 12:00 p.m. & 1:30 p.m., officers from the Red Lake Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received multiple reports possible impaired drivers who had departed from the Balmertown Food Fair grocery store.

Officers located the drivers separately, initiated traffic stops & subsequently made a demand for an approved screening device breath sample. Both drivers failed & were arrested for Operation While Impaired. The individuals were then returned to the Red Lake detachment for further tests.

As a result of the investigations, Bobby BURTON, 32, of Red Lake & Suzanna QUILL, 27, of Pikangikum, were charged with:

  • Operation While Impaired โ€“ 80 plus contrary to Section 320.14(1)(b) of the Criminal Code

Both individuals were released by way of a Promise to Appear with a court date scheduleย in Red Lakeย on September 19, 2019 at 9:00 a.m. to answer to the charges.
