(DRYDEN, ON) – Reports are coming into our news room, which end up on our news desk, about a man running around Dryden covered in blood.
The eyewitness accounts say the man covered in blood and allegedly has an axe in his possession. Multiple people have said the man tried to wave them down as they drove by.
The man was seen at a Royal Bank location hours ago, and was also seen in the Pitt and Wabigoon Drive areas.
If you see a man covered in blood, please don’t approach him, get safe and call 911 immediately.
UPDATE: We have been told the suspect was picked up by police and/or ambulance. We will update you as more information becomes available.
UPDATE: Dryden Police statement:
On Saturday July 28, 2018 around 6:00pm, Dryden Police received three reports of a male who appeared to be injured and bleeding walking near Safeway in Dryden.
The Dryden Police once again confirm that at no time was there any indication that the male was in possession of any weapon dangerous to the public nor was public safety threatened. There are also no reports or ongoing investigations of any criminal offence committed directly related to this incident or individual.
