Below is the statement released by Environment Canada.
Special weather statement in effect for:
- City of Thunder Bay
- Atikokan – Shebandowan – Quetico Park
- Upsala – Raith
- Dryden – Vermilion Bay
- Ignace – English River
- Fort Frances – Emo – Rainy River
- Seine River Village – Mine Centre
- Cloud Bay – Dorion
- Kakabeka Falls – Whitefish Lake – Arrow Lake
Significant rainfall possible tonight into Friday.
Rain is expected to spread over Northwestern Ontario this afternoon and this evening. Rain, at times heavy, will continue through tonight before gradually tapering to scattered showers late Friday.
Total rainfall amounts of 30 to 50 mm are expected by midday Friday.
Locally higher amounts are also possible however there remains some uncertainty regarding these higher amounts. Rainfall warnings may be required as the event draws closer.
