(DRYDEN, ON) โ€“ The Ontario Provincial Police and emergency responders arrived at the scene of a home on Henderson Avenue yesterday afternoon.


Some nearby residents were ordered evacuated by the police, yet they also say that there was no threat to the public.

A single man was barricaded in a home, and police went there and attempted to resolve the matter peacefully.

Tactical members of the Ontario Provincial Police were on scene, and traffic was being stopped at the intersection of Ski Hill Road and Henderson road.

Blake Keesick Jr has been taken into custody.


Police are still working in the area, but they want the public to know there are no safety concerns.

On November 01, 2018 at approximately 11:30 a.m. officers from the Dryden Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were executing a warrant at a residence on Henderson Road, North of Dryden.

A male barricaded himself inside the home with a weapon.

The OPP began an integrated police response including the Tactical and Rescue Unit (TRU), Northwest Emergency Response Team (ERT), an OPP K9 Unit, members of the Northwest Region Crisis Negotiating Team (CNT), Provincial Liaison Team,ย Incident Commanders and the Northwest Region Crime Unit.

The incident came to a conclusion at 8:30 a.m. on 02 November 2018 when the subject was arrested by Police.


Blake KEESICK (38 years old) of Dryden has been charged with the following offences under the Criminal Code:

  • Uttering Threats โ€“ Cause death s. 264.1(1) (a)
  • Careless Use of a Firearm s. 86(1)
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm s. 91(1)
  • Resist arrest contrary to s. 129(a)
  • Fail to Comply with Recognizance contrary to s. 145(3)
  • Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose s. 88

The accused has been held in custody for a bail hearing.
