(OTTAWA, ON) – Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged an Ottawa resident following an investigation into irregularities under the Municipal Elections Act.
In August 2018, the OPP received a request for assistance from the Ottawa Police Service.
The request was in relation to recent allegations of improprieties involving a candidate for Ottawa municipal council in the current 2018 municipal election.
As a result of the investigation, members of the OPP Anti-Rackets Branch – Ottawa Unit, under the direction of Detective Inspector Brad ROBSON, Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) have charged 44-year-old Timothy TIERNEY, with:
- Corrupt Practices under Section 90(3)(f) of the Municipal Elections Act.
The accused is scheduled to appear on Thursday, December 13, 2018 at the Provincial Offences Court Office at 100 Constellation Crescent in Ottawa.
