(TORONTO, ON) – Multiple unconfirmed reports are coming in that 15 people including one child have been shot in Greektown. 13 reported injured and 2 dead, including the gunman in an exchange of gunfire with police.
CityNews reports that Toronto police have confirmed that a shooting along Danforth Avenue near Logan Avenue did occur around 10:00 pm.
Paramedics said the scene covers several city blocks and multiple victims have serious injuries, according to CityNews. Multiple emergency runs via ambulance have been made to a minimum of two trauma centres in the area, and one being a pediatric trauma centre.
Roughly 25 gunshots were heard ringing through the area, as reported to CityNews by witnesses.
Police have confirmed the gunman is dead.
Anyone who has witnessed the shooting is asked by police to go to the command post at the corner of Pape Avenue and Danforth Avenue.
The TTC reports that Chester Station is being bypassed by subway trains due to the heavy police activity in the area.
