(WORLDWIDE) โ€“ YouTubeโ€™s Twitter has acknowledged that the service is currently down and the team are working to resolve the issue. (UPDATE: back on as of 10:41 pm EST, most videos working, some are not yet)

An estimated millions of people are without the video streaming service as of right now. Users are facing server errors as they attempt to login, or access videos.

The @TeamYouTube Twitter account said

โ€œThanks for your reports about YouTube, YouTube TV and YouTube Music access issues. Weโ€™re working on resolving this and will let you know once fixed. We apologize for any inconvenienceย this may cause and will keep you updated.โ€

There is currently no follow up information given, in regards to how long the outage is estimated to last, or what caused the issue.

This outage doesnโ€™t appear to be issuing the more common error message which has been seen by users during outages in the past.

A more common error was Error Code 500, and would normally issue a message which read

โ€œ500 Internal Server Error. Sorry, something went wrong.

A team of highly trained monkeys has been dispatched to deal with the situation.

If you see them, send them this information as text (screenshots frighten them).โ€

The current outage appears to be related to Error 503, which is indicative that this is a completely separate problem the video giant is facing.

  1. Ya , hacked again , Just like Facebook and all the other social media sites . Doesn’t matter which site you use , someone has your private info , you just don’t know it yet . I wish the hackers would throw a pile of cash in my bank account instead of screwing us little people around .
