(LAC SEUL, ON) – LAC SEUL POLICE ARREST ACCUSED ARSONIST FOR BURNING HOME WITH 10 PEOPLE INSIDE.
ALL PEOPLE ESCAPED INJURY.
Appearing this morning, Saturday February 9,2019 via telephone from the Lac Seul Police Station in Bail Courtroom 104 is 22 year old ALANNA WHISKEYJACK (pictured).
It’s W.A.S.H. (Weekend And Statutory Holiday) Court today. His Worship, Justice of the Peace Bernard Caron is presiding. Provincial Crown Derrick Silvestro is here along with Duty Counsels Lianne Roberge and 2 Lakehead Law Students.
The court hears that WHISKEYJACK was arrested last evening for allegedly starting a home fire that occurred February 8,2019 at the Frenchman’s Head area of Lac Seul Indian Reserve 28.
Inside Edition sources indicate that WHISKEYJACK was in the Frenchman’s Head visiting a boyfriend when she allegedly started this fire.
There were 10 people in the home when the fire was started.
She’s facing 3 charges related to arson, mischief (destroy by arson) and endangering the lives of 10 people.
The Crown Attorney is not consenting to her release. WHISKEYJACK is heading to Sioux Lookout for Bail Court on Monday February 11,2019.
