TBay Marks Street Murder Suspect Flees Police

(MISSISSAUGA, ON) โ€“ย Investigators with the 11 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau are seeking assistance from the public in locating a man wanted for attempt murder after a shooting that occurred in Mississauga.

On Tuesday, August 13, 2019, at approximately 2:30 p.m., police responded to the area of Apple Blossom Circle in relation to a dispute involving weapons. Upon police arrival a female victim was located suffering from gunshot wounds.

The male suspect involved had fled the scene but was located by officers in the area of Sandford Farm Drive and Stargazer Drive in Mississauga. An altercation took place between the suspect and the officers when the suspect fled in an officerโ€™s police vehicle.

The police vehicle was located a short distance away after the suspect abandoned it. The suspect has since stolen a second vehicle, a 2013 white Hyundai Sante Fe SUV with license plate AYVL 950.

The Hyundai Sante Fe and the suspect are still outstanding.

Investigation has identified the suspect as Michael Cleghorn, a 31 year-old man with no fixed address.

Michael Cleghorn is described by police as:

  • male,
  • black,
  • medium complexion,
  • 6โ€™2โ€ and 180 pounds.

It is unknown if Michael Cleghorn has suffered any injuries from this incident. He may attempt to seek medical treatment.

Michael CLEGHORN is currently wanted by the Thunder Bay Police Service for Second Degree Murder in connection to a homicide that occurred in Thunder Bay, Ontario, on May 22nd, 2017. He is wanted for the murder of Edmond Clovis, 21, from Toronto on May 22.

The homicide is believed to be โ€œtargetedโ€ and โ€œgang relatedโ€.

CLEGHORN is also wanted by the Toronto Police Service for Sexual Assault, Sexual Interference, Indecent Exposure to a Person Under 16 years of age X2 and Uttering Threats X2.

If observed, do not approach, as CLEGHORN should be considered armed and dangerous. The Public is encouraged to immediately contact 911 with any details.

It is possible he could return to Thunder Bay.

The Special Investigations Unit has assumed responsibility for the investigation and any further inquiries should be directed to them.

  1. WOW this guy has evaded police for over 2 years and now turns up down east what a situation this is. Hopefully he will be caught soon and they will lock him up for life he sounds like one dangerous dude. Good luck to all the police in locating him and if you have to shoot him OH WELL he brought it on himself.
