When police arrived, paramedics were treating a three-week-old infant with obvious signs of trauma. The infant was rushed to hospital and placed on life support.
On Sunday, October 21, 2018, the infant succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased.
A post-mortem examination will be held on Monday, October 22, 2018.
Matthew Bouffard, 29, of Toronto, was arrested on Thursday, October 18, 2018. He was charged with:
- Aggravated Assault
He appeared in court at 1911 Eglinton Avenue East on Friday, October 19, 2018, at 10 a.m., in room 412.
His charges will be re-evaluated pending the results of the post-mortem examination.
This will most likely be Toronto’s 87th homicide of 2018.
