(FORT FRANCES) – On March 13, 2018 at 8:30 pm, officers of the Rainy River District Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) observed a driver fail to stop for a red light in the Town of Fort Frances.
Officers then conducted a traffic stop on the 1000 block of Kings Highway in Fort Frances. The driver, Michael Tupper, age 54 years of Lavallee Township, failed the roadside test and was arrested and transported to OPP Detachment for breath tests. The vehicle was towed from the scene and impounded for the mandatory 7 days.
The driver was subsequently charged with,
-Having Care or Control over 80 milligrams of alcohol in 100 milliliters of Blood contrary to section 253(1)(b) of the Criminal Code.
-He was also charged with numerous Highway Traffic Act and Liquor Licence Act offences.
He will appear in Fort Frances Court on March 26, 2018 to answer to the charge.
