(KIRKLAND LAKE, ON) – On October 3, 2019, members of the Kirkland Lake Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to report of a person causing damage to a room at a hotel located on Government Road East in the Town of Kirkland Lake.
Police attended the scene and observed the room to have significant damage and also located drugs suspected to be methamphetamine.
As a result, Jonathan ROY, age 39, of Elmira, Ontario, has been charged with the following offences;
- Mischief Over $5,000., contrary to section 430(3) of the Criminal Code (CC), and
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Methamphetamine, contrary to section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA).
The accused was released on a Promise to Appear and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on November 7, 2019, in Kirkland Lake.
