Thunder Bay to Wawa to Get Heavy Rain Friday

(NORTHERN ONTARIO) – We got some rain coming folks! Good thing most of us will be surrounded by family and enjoy a nice cooked bird known as the Thanksgiving turkey. Rain is set to start on Friday morning and blast on into the afternoon and evening. Below is the statement issued by Environment Canada.

  • Wawa – Pukaskwa Park

Rain, at times heavy, will begin early Friday morning.
Rain will begin overnight tonight and continue through Friday night, with the most rainfall occurring Friday afternoon and evening. Rainfall amounts of 30 to 50 mm are expected, with higher amounts possible in embedded thunderstorms.
Highest rainfall amounts are expected north of Lake Superior between Nipigon and Marathon, including Pays Plat, Terrace Bay and Neys. A Rainfall Warning may be required. Environment Canada meteorologists are continuing to monitor the situation closely.
A deepening Colorado low moving into Northwestern Ontario is responsible for the rain and snow in Northern Ontario today into the weekend.
