(ONTARIO) – Successful last minute talks have averted an ontario wide strike of CUPE education workers. The 55,000 or so workers will work Monday, not strike.
A tentative deal was reached between CUPE and the province of Ontario on Sunday evening. This will allow public schools to resume as normal on Monday.
A news conference is set to be held shortly. Details about the deal have not been made public yet.
The deal was made with only a few hours left before the midnight strike deadline. School will continue on Monday as regularly scheduled.
This is a developing story and we will do a follow up article when more information is obtained.
Sorry kids, schools on.
