Hi! I’d like to remain anonymous. But, I do follow your page and thought you might be interested to check out the Facebook profile of Beau Tato. A friend of mine brought it to my attention. This individual is from Fort William First Nation, possibly a band member from what I understand, and has just recently posted a rant about people visiting mount McKay.
He claims that we trash the place – which no doubt everyone litters unfortunately – but he goes on to say that we are unwanted in certain Areas, and originally said he would ‘wreck’ anyone he saw up there on the mountain that shouldn’t be there.
It’s people like this that continue the cycle of hate and fuel racism. It’s often the other way around that we see stories being published, that white people are being racist, but in this case, it is the other way around. And kind of interesting if he actually is a band member. My friend does say that he is a nice kid though
(Editor’s Note: Here is the original post from Beau Tato Below)
“This is for all locals in thunder bay… our trails that are on the mountain is private property… we don’t want just anybody going up there… people who can go up there know who they are..
This is reserve land reserved for “indians” from Fort William first nation… people go up there and wreck our areas and leave their garbage and there’s lots of us that go up there everyday..
Stay off our lands there are plenty of stolen land for you to go exploring
