(THUNDER BAY, ON) – A fire in the south side of town got out of control around 2:00 pm today.
Thunder Bay Fire Rescue responded to the scene and started battling the blaze with an impressive response time.
Witnesses on the scene told TRCCTB.COM that there was a single vehicle collision that ended with the vehicle in the ditch. The vehicle started to smoke, and is likely to have started the fire. Thunder Bay Hydro was working in the area when the fire engulfed the area rapidly
Thunder Bay Fire Rescue was able to calm the flames on the Neebing side of the inferno, but as the time of this writing, they were still battling the blaze on the rosslyn side.
Traffic has come to a slow grind on Rosslyn as fire crews have a Pumper truck blocking the road, for the reason of running a fire hose across the roadway. Reports have come in that they are letting traffic through in small bursts.
Traffic has some delays on Neebing, as traffic control measures have been put in place to direct traffic in one direction at a time.
