(THUNDER BAY, ON) – Another abduction attempt has happened, this time in the cities north side.
We have been told that an 11-year-old girl was walking home today from school when she was approached by a man in a vehicle around 3:45 pm.
The man was in an older white van and attempted to get the child in his vehicle.
The male is described as:
- Tanned skin
- Either a beard with dark facial hair, or a black bandana covering the lower half of his face.
- Black hat pulled down low
- Driving a white work van (E350) with rusted out wheel wells and a huge dent on the bumper. The van also has a ladder roof rack.
“This took place near Claude garden School –again in broad daylight! The man asked my daughter to help find his puppy. Luckily enough, she knew better. He then told her to get inside. (the youth) again, refused. He drove away angry.” says the mother of the child.
“Talking to other parents I found out a similar situation happened 2 days ago and he tried using chocolate bars. Educate your children. This could have been so much worse. 😢” The mother of the child said.
The incident happened on Dacre Street in Current River.
“Please talk to your children about the goings on in our neighbourhood. Remind them to be aware of their surroundings and take note of anyone coming near them.” Says Cher Renaud.
The police have been notified, and the investigation is continuing.
