Bus Stop Shelter Damaged – Be Advised

(THUNDER BAY, ON) – A REAL Concerned Citizen reached out to us this morning to inform the public about a hazard.

A city bus shelter near the corner of Red River and Algonquin has been damaged. As a result, there is lots of broken pieces of glass on the ground.

This situation presents a safety hazard to anyone who uses the bus stop, along with children and others who may be walking by. Be advised.

The cause of the damage is not yet determined but it will be safe to speculate in the comments. One thing we know is that it wasn’t caused by someone having a diabetic attack.

The city has been informed and will be sorting out the mess as soon as possible.

Anyone that sees any other bus shelters damaged or anything of concern in the neighbourhood is asked to email photos and as much information to us as soon as possible. tips@trcctb.com

  1. Senseless, wasteful stupidity likely carried out by an alcohol/drug fuelled a-hole. No shortage of that in Thunder Bay.

  2. It is no wonder that this city has nothing those shelters are expensive and put there for the use of the citizens using public transportation. It is a shame to see them get damaged like this for no reason at all except for some junkie or drunk or whatever to have their kicks. It is bad enough when they upset mailboxes and other things but to do this kind of damage is certainly not acceptable. They will probably never be caught but if they are they deserve to get jail time for it and a huge fine as well as having to pay for the damages that they have caused. Of course in this city that would never happen because if caught they will get a slap on the wrist and set free. I just wish that we could get our city cleaned up but again I can not see that happening in the near future.

  3. Could be the result of a stone sitting on the roadway clipped by the tire of a vehicle driving past.
Strange how nothing was said when a careless snow plow operator took out the glass at the Bus Shelter @ Jansens, 504 Edward St. North during this past winter.
