(THUNDER BAY, ON) – A serious collision has occurred in the south downtown core this evening, leaving two vehicles as likely write-offs.
The incident occurred around 7:00 pm this evening in the southbound lane of May Street, near the intersection with Victoria Ave.
“…saw the grey suv start veering towards the parked black SUV, thought it was just coming in fast and was gonna stop to park, but nope… Slammed into it, so fast it kept going and pushed the black SUV out of the way and hit the building, then we heard an explosion and so much smoke, we pulled over to see what happened and everyone was out of the car on the sidewalk with people around them.” Hannah, a witness to the incident told TRCCTB.COM in an interview.
A third vehicle, a black car also sustained dmasge from the black SUV being pushed into it. A male passenger was seen walking north on May Street shortly after the collision.
The grey SUV came to rest with the front end having collided with a building.
Thunder Bay Police Service, Superior North EMS and Thunder Bay Fire Rescue responded to the scene.
Nobody is said to have sustained serious injuries luckily.
