(THUNDER BAY, ON) – On October 11th, 2018, many citizens were wondering what the police presence was for near Dawson Road.
A 15 year old male appeared in court on a number of charges after being arrested on Dawson Road around 5:00 p.m. on October 11, 2018.
A dispute at a family home resulted in a youth threatening his parent and taking a vehicle to leaving the area.
He was located parked in the driveway of Emerald Greens Golf Course by patrol officers.
Multiple police vehicles were positioned to block in this vehicle. The youth rammed the police vehicles several times before being pinned up against a trailer in the parking lot. Initial attempts to have him exit the vehicle were unsuccessful.
The TBPS Tactical Unit arrived and was successful in negotiating him to surrender. There were no injuries in this incident.
The 15 year old youth has been charged with:
- Mischief Under $5000
- Take Motor Vehicle without Consent
- Utter Threats
- Forcible Confinement
- Resist Arrest
- Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle
He was remanded into custody.
